A masterpiece of architecture model: The Blue Wonder
M-143 CMC Mercedes-Benz Racing Car Transporter 1955

For years, the "Blue Wonder" was one of CMC best-selling models. That was no surprise if one considers its gorgeous contour and multiple functional parts. The adoption of premium materials, together with perfect craftmanship and a deep blue high-gloss finish, made this replica a true collector's item that belonged in a special class.
Years have elapsed since this model was sold out, and it is time to refill the void. But rather than offer a remake of the old M-036, CMC are introducing a new version that incorporates details and accessories newly discovered from the archives. Amond them are the chromed wheel hubs, an embellished Mercedes star inlaid in the front, orange-colored auxiliary lights, and stone-chipping guards on the rear fenders, not to mention a rear plate-light assemble, an oval national symbol "D" in the rear end, and the loading ramps that are painted in matt black, instead.
This new offer certainly comes belated to those who are eagerly looking to find a time-proper transporter for their W196 Monoposto and Streamliner, 300 SLR of various types and Uhlenhaut Coupé!

Description of the original vehicle: In 1954 a special and unique hand-built vehicle emerged from the workshops of Daimler-Benz – the Mercedes-Benz racing car transporter. With its deep blue Daimler-Benz paintwork, the soft curves of the body, and a maximum speed of 170 km/h, it caused just as much fascination as the W196 and 300 SLR racing cars on the loading bed.
After Daimler-Benz withdrew from Formula 1 racing at the end of 1955, this vehicle disappeared from public view. Sadly, the original was scrapped in 1967.
In the early 1990’s, Daimler-Benz resurrected this treasure. Under the direction of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center, a replica of the original was constructed, bringing this unique vehicle back to life.
To mark the occasion of the Mercedes-Benz 100th anniversary in 2001, the racing car transporter was shown to an excited public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in South England.

Technical data of the original vehicle:
  1. Six-cylinder in-line engine (300 SL)
  2. Fuel direct injection
  3. Displacement: 2,996 ccm
  4. Maximum output: 192 hp at 5,500 rmp
  5. Top speed: 170 km/h
  6. Wheel base 3,050 mm
  7. Lenght: 6,750 mm
  8. Width: 2,000 mm
  9. Total wight: 2,100 kg

Exzellenter Kundenservice

Amazing

I chose this model for my first purchase at CMC having never seen before one of their products, I was seduced by the originality of the design. Time of delivery respected, perfect packaging. And, beautiful surprise, the vehicle is beautifully made, it comes in a nice box with a small clip to manipulate the opening and a small cloth. Bravo CMC-Modelcarshop.de
