A masterpiece of architecture model: CMC Auto Union Typ C #4, 1936

The Auto Union Type C is hand-assembled from 1026 parts into an extraordinary precision model. 23 parts are zinc diecast, 754 are metal or copper and, and 153 are made of plastic. The remaining 96 parts are screws, rivets, or simulated screw-heads. For the first time, CMC is presenting a model in 1:18 scale that is composed of more than 1,000 parts - a milestone in its history.

Description of the original: 1936 became the year of Auto Union and its young Bernd Rosemeyer. He became the new star in the European racing scene. It was the clash of the titans, Mercedes-Benz VS Auto Union. The GP of Germany at the 26st of July was just another round of that fight.
The agile and highly talented Bernd Rosemeyer, was able like no other to handle the 16 cylinder v-engine powerhouse of the hard to drive Auto Union Type C. The mid-mounted engine of the vehicle, developed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, was groundbraking for its time.
With his starting number 4, Bernd Rosemeyer achieved a prestigious victory. His team mate Hans Stuck, also on Auto Union Type C, became 2nd. Mercedes-Benz hat to leave the track with empty hands this time.
