Description of the original vehicle: Rarely has a race car left such an enduring memory as did the Ferrari 156 F1. It is a pity that not a single original exists in the world today.
The nickname “Sharknose” is indicative of its prominent oval radiator inlets in the front. Famous drivers clinched sensational victories with the “Sharknose,” the first Ferrari race car powered by a mid-mounted engine. Among these pilots was Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, the first German to join the Scuderia Ferrari and win a Grand Prix after World War II. There was also Phil Hill, the first American to win the Formula 1 World Championship in 1961.

Technical data of the original vehicle:
  1. Six-cylinder V-engine with a 120° cylinder angle, Aluminium body with space frame
  2. Maximum output: 190 hp at 9,500 rpm
  3. Displacement: 1,476.6 ccm
  4. Top speed: 260 km/h
  5. Total length: 4,060 mm
  6. Wheel base: 2,300 mm
  7. Track front / rear: 1,200 mm
