The race was a duel between Bugatti and Delage after the retirement of sixteen participants. The Delage took the advantage in the first laps but the cars and especially the Delage’s drivers, suffering from the heat, were forced to be relieved, which caused a scandal after the race. Jules Goux on Bugatti 39A #10 won in front of the Delage 15 S 8 #15 of Bourlier/Senechal and Costantini with the Bugatti 39A #2 in third place.
